To ensure that all areas of the SVITZER Angola Lda activities are fully prepared and in a state of readiness for any operation which may be requested by the Charterer.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Seek to obtain the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible purchase cost keeping within IMO requirements for safety related equipment
  • Choose the suppliers of the product or service with the approval of the Operations, Tech and HSEQ Dept as required.
  • Ensure that the correct amount of the product or service is received at the appropriate time.
  • Identify foreign and domestic suppliers.
  • Evaluate suppliers on the basis of price, quality, service support, availability, reliability and selection.
  • Review catalogs, industry and company publications, directories, websites
  • Responsible for placing orders after the necessary approvals.
  • Keeps records pertaining to items purchased, costs, delivery.
  • Resolves conflicts between vendor and SVITZER regarding product defects, shortages, and/or untimely deliveries and quality of equipment and provisions.
  • Liaise with freight forwarding companies to ensure the timely and low cost logistics of spares and consumables.
  • Provide documentation and administrative support to the Operations as directed.
  • Ensure all vessel documentation is up to date and correct, responsible for the cataloging and maintenance of the vessel certification database.
  • Ensure all vessel specification sheets are up to date and correct.
  • As necessary, code purchase invoices for the Accounts Dept.
  • Issue work orders as and when required by the Technical Dept.
  • Act as primary responsible for MDM data updates and accuracy
  • Assist in the upkeep of the Sertica procurement and PM databases.
  • Having the full responsibility of the warehouse, Ensure it is well maintained, properly and accurately operated, and inventoried;
  • The timely provision of all stores and victuals as required by all craft;
  • Responsible for the direct contact with Clients when requested.
  • Ensuring the timely and factual reporting of vessel monthly statistics though the clients WELS reporting system.
  • Attends all required meetings and workshops as the Svitzer representative.

 

We are looking for

Required/Preferred Education
  • Higher Education
  • Previous experience of at least 2/3 years in maritime purchasing..

 

Training and competencies
  • Experience in maritime Administration & Purchasing.
  • Logistics experience in Angola
  • MS Office suite
  • Sertica Procurement
